A Modern Courthouse Elopement in Olympia Washington | Ashley & Alex
There’s something about a courthouse elopement that just feels so intentional and Ashley and Alex’s day in Olympia was exactly that.
Ashley had been following my work for years, and when she reached out about her elopement, she told me she always knew she wanted me to capture it. That alone meant so much to me. Getting to document such a meaningful day for someone who has supported my work for so long is something I’ll never take lightly.
From the moment I met them, everything felt easy.
They chose to elope at the courthouse in Olympia, Washington surrounded by marble, soft light, and the kind of architecture that makes everything feel timeless. It was quiet, intimate, and completely centered on the two of them.
Ashley wore a stunning, modern off-the-shoulder dress that felt both classic and editorial, while Alex kept things simple in a black suit. Together, they looked effortlessly elegant.
And one of my favorite personal touches? Ashley’s bouquet.
She carried the most beautiful bundle of lilies from Capital Blooms, a shop I absolutely love. It felt so her and added the perfect soft, romantic detail to the entire day.
We spent time wandering through the courthouse, stopping wherever the light hit just right. From the grand staircase to the glowing elevator doors, every corner gave us something unique but what stood out most wasn’t the location.
It was them.
The way they held hands the entire time.
The quiet smiles.
The little glances that said, “we really did this.”
There was no rush, no pressure just space to be present with each other.
That’s what makes courthouse elopements so special.
They strip everything back to what truly matters: connection, intention, and love.
